Precision vertical jigging
This is a quite challenging technique, but chances for that really big one are far greater than in bottom fishing styles. The idea is pretty much the same than in normal vertical jigging, but precision jigging happens in mid-water. We sweep the target area for big fish echoes using sonars. When we find a potential target fish, we descend the jig above it and try to get it interested. The softbaits used in precision vertical jigging are often large, usually 6-10 inches. The greatest thrill comes from reading and interpreting the sonar and being able to see everything what happens below the boat.
